Working closely with its clients and investors, IMS assesses the specific issue or concern, the borrower and the related mortgagee, and provides a recommended course of action. Sometimes these result in special monitoring or, if a default has occurred, a workout or forbearance period to permit the related borrower to either repay the loan or to take the steps required to put it back into good standing. In more serious defaults, IMS may recommend actively pursuing enforcement action in order to maximize loan recoveries and minimize any losses.
