John Ho, President and CEO

John is one of the founding principals of IMC and has over 30 years of real estate banking and debt capital markets experience. John’s industry experience includes senior positions at Merrill Lynch’s commercial mortgage businesses from 1997 to 2009 (initially in Canada and then in the U.S.), and prior positions with J.P. Morgan, Salomon Brothers and McKinsey & Co. John holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Business Administration from Wharton School and a Masters of Science in Computer and Information Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.


Robert Fitzpatrick, Senior Relationship Manager

Bob, with over 25 years of international real estate mortgage banking experience, laid out the platform model and business of IMC as one of its founding partners. Prior to IMC, Bob was responsible for Merrill Lynch’s North American real estate financing business, and developed and implemented the Merrill Lynch Global Principal Investments Asset Management platform. Bob holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Economics from St. John’s University in New York City, NY.


Paul Scholz, Managing Director - Credit and Risk

Paul has 26 years of commercial mortgage banking experience and is a leading authority in the origination and the underwriting of commercial mortgages at IMC. Prior to IMC, Paul held positions in Merrill Lynch's Canadian mortgage conduit and London Life. Paul has been responsible for the credit and origination of over $8.5 billion of mortgage loans at Merrill Lynch and another $1.9 billion with IMC. Paul holds an Honours Bachelor of Business & Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON.


Darren Schmidt, Managing Director - Origination

Darren has over 20 years of commercial mortgage banking and capital markets experience with IMC and with prior senior positions at Merrill Lynch and Lonestar Canada. At IMC, Darren's primary focus is core mortgage lending and mezzanine loan origination, structuring and underwriting. He also has extensive experience managing sub-performing and non-performing commercial mortgage portfolios. Darren holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON.


Shawn Philpott, Vice President - Origination

Shawn brings over 25 years of commercial mortgage financing and capital market experience to IMC and is responsible for the marketing of, and origination for, IMC's core lending platform, with particular focus on Central and Atlantic Canada. Prior to joining IMC, Shawn was a senior team member for Merrill Lynch Canada commercial mortgage conduit. Shawn is an Accredited Appraiser of the Canadian Institute (AACI), a Chartered Valuation Surveyor as recognized by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Western Ontario.


Jean Monardo, Principal Broker and Senior Vice President

Jean is responsible for IMC’s closing department, and loan servicing and administration for the IMS’s servicing program. She has over 30 years of commercial real estate and mortgage financing experience. Prior to IMC, Jean held a senior management position in the Merrill Lynch Canada mortgage conduit, and previously held positions as a senior real estate law clerk with several major Toronto law firms. Jean is IMC’s Principal Mortgage Broker.


Charles Gamm, Vice President

Charles works on the investment team for a number of funds managed by IMC. Prior to joining IMC, Charles worked for Fitch Ratings, where he was in charge of business relationship management for Fitch in Canada. Prior to that, Charles led the Canadian structured finance team for Moody’s. Charles has nearly 25 years of commercial real estate experience. Charles holds a Honours Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
